St. Moritz is the perfect base for one of the most spectacular train journeys anywhere in the Alps. This break has you settled into the glamorous lakeside resort town, then aboard the Bernina Express for its UNESCO-listed route south — over the Bernina Pass, past the Alp Grüm viewpoint with its glacier panorama, and down through the tiny mountain village of Poschiavo to Tirano, just over the Italian border. Three nights of Alpine scenery, one legendary red train, and plenty of time in St. Moritz itself to enjoy the lake and mountain air.
