Swiss Alps Rail Adventure

Three of Switzerland's most iconic bases in one trip, linked by two of the country's most scenic rail journeys. Start in Lucerne, on the edge of its own lake and ringed by mountains, then ride the panoramic Luzern–Interlaken Express to the lakes of the Bernese Oberland, before continuing on to car-free Zermatt at the foot of the Matterhorn — a fitting finale to a trip built around Switzerland's rail network at its best.

DAY 1

Fly from the UK to Lucerne

Fly from the UK to Zurich and transfer to Lucerne, checking into your hotel in the heart of the Old Town.

DAY 2

Scenic Train to Interlaken

Spend the morning exploring Lucerne's Chapel Bridge and Old Town, then board the panoramic Luzern–Interlaken Express, checking into your hotel between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz.

DAY 3

Scenic Train to Zermatt

Continue by scenic rail from Interlaken to car-free Zermatt (final approach by train or electric taxi), checking into your hotel at the foot of the Matterhorn.
